A report has it that Prince Harry and hubby, Meghan Markle has been banned from making use of the “Sussex Royal” brand.

This development is coming after both dropped their HRH titles. Queen Elizabeth II has instructed the duo to surrender their “Sussex Royal” brand as they commence a new life after quitting from the British royal family. Recall that this brand was built last year when Harry and Meghan was still a member of the royal family.

Daily Mail reported that the Queen took this decision after a prolonged deliberation with senior officials at the British royal family. The Queen placed a ban on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they moved into their financial independent life. The couple had hoped to use the brand name for their Instagram account and website

It was also reported that the couple was hoping to register Sussex Royal as part of their global trademark for different activities and items. These include stationery, books, clothing, and teaching materials. Also, the couple has plans to establish a charity organization using Sussex Royal which is the foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

It is, therefore, believed that Harry and Meghan will rebrand themselves after stepping back from the royal duties early January 2020. In the meantime, the couple has accepted the conditions and ready to surrender their Sussex Royal Brand.

Recall that they began the development of the label last year and were able to build good popularity gaining over 11.2 million followers in the shortest time. However, a source close to the royal palace said that talks are still ongoing concerning the Sussex Royal brand

“As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are stepping back as senior Members of the Royal Family and will work towards financial independence, use of the word ‘Royal,’ in this context, needed to be reviewed. Discussions are still ongoing,” the source reiterated.

Recall that Prince Harry and hubby, Meghan shocked the world in January when they announced that they would be stepping back as senior members of the royal family

However, the couple said they would continue to work with the royal family. They got married in 2018 in England and welcomed their first child, Archie in 2019.
