We Tried The New Indomie Relish And Here’s Our Review!

So Indomie noodles recently launched “Indomie Relish” granting you the full meal experience.

According to Indomie.ng:

The new Indomie Relish delivers a deliciously wholesome and complete meal experience as it comes in two delicious flavors: Chicken Extravaganza and Seafood Delight.

This brand new noodles series comes in two different flavors.

  • The Relish Chicken Extravaganza with real chicken chunks and 3 seasoning sachets.
  • The Relish seafood delight with real fish chunks with 5 seasoning sachets.

You must’ve seen the advertisements here and there if you’re prominent on social media. They’ve got big deals like Don Jazzy talking about it sef.

We heard it’s in the supermarkets already so we decided to rush there to get ours and try it out so as to take the doubts out for ya.

How Much Is The New Indomie Relish?

We got each unit of the indomie relish for N340 and you can get yours at any supermarket close to you as it’s available almost everywhere. Shoprite, Justrite, Grocery bazaar stores, for example, should have them.

Since advertised as the complete or should we say full meal experience, we cooked everything as found in the box. So we took em one after the other, First:

1. The Chicken Extravaganza

This one appeared like Jollof both on paper and immediately it got into the pot and all the seasonings went into it.

And yes they did say it was chicken based but what we saw in the sachets looked like slices of sausage and a few pieces of chopped chicken.  Our main editor who had the lion share of this one said it tasted like chicken.

It looked good in pictures but wasn’t entirely what we were expecting. It’s just okay. Didn’t even smell like Indomie and all that. Maybe our taste buds weren’t in the right place when eating this up.

We encourage you to give it a trial if you’re a noodles enthusiast but don’t expect all that great experience or have your expectations high. Just keep calm and try then leave a comment below telling us what to think but if we’re to rate this over 10? It’s going with a 5.8.

The relish seafood delight is being cooked as we speak, let’s hope that one blows our mind off the water.

Okay so it’s ready and since we had high hopes for this one, It’s not that bad at all. Personally, I’d chose this over the chicken extravaganza anyway.

The relish seafood delight is a major upgrade. Smells good and taste way better. The smell also is almost out of this world, Almost.

The appearance looks good and the seasonings inside this pack really bring the noodles alive. We all love it except for Victoria, she seems to prefer the chicken extravaganza to this one.

We’ll give it an overall rating of 7.3/10 🙂

One thing you should know is we’re not really noodles enthusiasts so these ratings are solely our opinions. They’re both okay and we think you should try them out.

  5. Lol, I feel noodles shouldn’t just be eaten according to how the instruction is on the pack, likewise this Realish, maybe just maybe cooked with other spices and veggies would taste better ?

  8. The Chicken extravaganza was extremely disgusting, the smell alone was enough to make my mum want to vomit. It was horrible and a complete complete waste of money

  10. Verdict! My indomie extravaganza experience….. It was disgusting, terrible… didn’t even smell like indomie… I prefer the old version. Didn’t meet my expectations… I only bought one … Thank goodness i didn’t purchase the carton. “Dear reviewer your taste buds were in the right place when eating this up.   11. I like that you just reviewed it. As in reviewed it plainly. I hate it when bloggers are trying to review something and are just hyping it. Your review sounds very honest and real. Thank you. I should try the Seafood Delight though

  12. Hmmm.. indomie is like family to me , so I would give an objective constructive review.
    1. Presentation:-
    This is by far the best looking indomie noodles packaging till date. All spices and condiments are nearly packed to prevent spilling in an airtight satchet.
    2. Aroma:-
    The first thing you notice while the noodles on fire is the off putting artificial chicken smell.. not in any way similar to previous chicken flavours of indomie.
    3. Taste-
    Tastes like regular noodles except the spices makes it feel oily to the tongue (similar to frying with palm oil). Most people will not be okay with this I can guarantee. The lack of dried, cut vegetables really makes the overall experience bad. As for the chicken chunks, tastes more like dried diced sausages dipped in vinegar than actual chicken.
    4. Verdict
    It’s a bold attempt (as already expected by indomie) to bring something new , that totally resembles the garnished finished cooked foods on most food packs. I really wish they could get this right in the future . Having instant noodles that already contains every ingredient and protein I need is a dream that may come true.

    NO CHICKEN CHUNKS——MORE LIKE CHICKEN SAUSAGES…….GOOD CHICKEN CHUNKS FOR MEANING! ALSO GOOGLE WHAT A SEA FOOD DELIGHT MEANS.

    I WAS REALLY DISAPPOINT AND A WASTE OF MONEY.

    I PREFER MY USUAL ONION CHICKEN. I CAN PUT ACTUAL CHICKEN CHUNKS OR REAL FISH OR PRAWNS.

    TOO MUCH FOCUS ON THE RELISH PACKAGE THAN THE NOODLE ITSELF….SPICES….NAH.

  18. I liked the post,however it would have been beautiful if the seafood experience had been written with that same vivid description you gave the chicken noodles

  19. Just tried the Relish Chicken Extravaganza, and the packaging made me buy it, it’s so beautiful. But the content leaves little to be desired.
    My daughter who is an Indomie lover said she wouldn’t taste it because of the smell.
    The taste was quite flat for me, nothing desirable
    I’m yet to taste the seafood delight though I’m looking forward to it based on your review.

  20. Tried the chicken. It’s utter crap. It tastes like something one should absolutely not put into their body. And I’ve been puking my guts out since eating it. Should have checked the packaging, as I’m willing to bet there’s more than a bit of red food dye… Or maybe I’m wrong but it’s just not it at all. I’m here drinking charcoal to settle my stomach.

    Before you ask, I followed the instructions to the letter, so it’s not like I under-cooked it or something.

    Maybe take all that energy used in creating the packaging and put it into creating something nicer. Better yet, just stop. Let’s put the chicken and seafood and sausages by ourselves. Really glad I only bought one. It reminds me of the experience I had with their “Jollof” noodles back in the day – except worse. Thank goodness I bought only one. I think I’ll stick to the BASIC chicken and onion flavors, to be safe. Anyone craving bits of chicken or fish in their noodles… Do yourself a favor and add it in yourself. You’ve been warned.

  22. We tried the Relish Chicken out.
    The packaging is lovely… very attractive indeed. Unfortunately for me and my loved ones, the taste is far less than average on a scale of 1-10. Our best still remains oriental indomie noodles and the onion flavour.
    I expected a whole lot from this Relish chicken but disappointment was what I got. Please, the taste of the noodles and size of the chicken chunks should be looked into (a bit larger chunks plssssssssssss)
    The idea of a whole meal in a lovely pack is nice but execution should be looked into greatly.

  25. Package is okay the seasoning is fantastic I love the seafood package but still looking for the whole carton just one carton to buy. Taste is ?the smell is??. Don’t know about anybody but I know about myself and my tummy.

  26. I just tried the indomie relish seafood. It tastes like the regular indomie chicken flavour. It’s nothing spectacular. The packaging is lovely though but that’s not what goes into the mouth.
    It’s not worth the price.

  29. I hate to say this! This is trash! the worst indomie. Felt like i was eating plastic! is that suppose to be chicken chunks? then the horrible sauce. I couldnt eat it. I threw it away. I bought it 350 at SPAR LEKKI!

  31. Both, over-hyped, overpriced!!!

    With the normal Indomie and with almost the same amount of money at hand you can do more and better wonders. Hence, it’s not worth the price and hype!!!
