It is no longer news that Prince Harry and Meghan have decided to leave the monarchy and here are a few things that THRIVENAIJA is following at this point.

Recall that earlier in 2020 Harry and Meghan made it known that they were retiring from the royal offices. The official statement was made public on the 8th of January when they announced that they intend splitting their time between North America and the United Kingdom. They also made it known that they wanted to be financially independent.

Queen Elizabeth II finalized arrangement for the exit of Harry and Meghan and confirmed this in a press release where she said Harry, Meghan, and Archie, their son would still be regarded as members of the family.

In a related development, Buckingham Palace also said that the couple gave up their royal assignments, like being present at military events. However, their departure would mean that they would no longer receive public funds.

The report reads;

The Sussexes will no longer make use their Royal Highnesses since they no longer belong to the royal family”.

The report also says that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made it known that they would wish to pay back the loan granted for the renovation of Frogmore Cottage. This will be their family home in the United Kingdom.

It was confirmed according to the report that it would take effect in the spring of 2020. A reliable source close to Prince Harry and Meghan said it would officially start on 31st March and that the couple would be issuing an official statement of their nonprofit organization.

The Prince would continue to maintain his honorary commander, squadron leader, and his rank of captain.

However, the couple would continue to be the Earl and Countess of Dumbarton, Duke, and Duchess of Sussex, and the Baron and Baroness Kilkeel.

Harry would maintain his sixth position in the rank to the succession to the throne and his status as Sussex.

The couple will be in London on 5th March to be a guest at the Endeavor Fund Awards and on the 7th of March attending the Mountbatten Festival of Music at the Royal Albert Hall. They would also be with the British Crown on Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey on the 9th of March.
